Pioneer Village Accessibility

Parking/Drop-Off and Pick-Up:

We have a drop-off and pick-up area directly in front of our gate and admission's building for closer convenience for persons with mobility disabilities. Although parking is not permitted at this area due to the area being a fire and emergency route we encourage its intended purpose. We also have designated accessible parking spaces at our main admissions parking area and two directly across Forbes Hill Drive from our train station. If you require special assistance for or as a person with a disability please contact our admissions clerk at (705)789-7576 ex 3214.

Museums and Restrooms:

Our museums and restrooms are fully accessible.

Pioneer Village:

We continue to search for new ways to eliminate barriers in making our site accessible to everyone, however due to common early 1900's construction practices
and our commitment to protect and care for the artefacts; we may not alter the physical
structures of our buildings. To assist in delivering a more complete experience for our
visitors with disabilities we provide a large print photo guide book to offer a "look
inside" for those who cannot gain entry due to the smaller door frames and multi-

We also offer:

  • Muskoka Museum self-tour translations in English and French
  • Village site map translations available in English, French, Japanese, Dutch, German
  • Some buildings ramped for wheelchair access
